Last stage of apostem is abscess
formation when bullation becomes dome-shaped with some soft
areas; cellular barrier is replaced by granulation one and that
in turn totally separates damaged tissues from healthy ones.
First stage of abscess is treated like that: alcohol dressings with novocaine-antibiotic blocking and with the solution applied to inflammatory tissue are placed on abscess. If abscess
is benign and aid for it is rendered timely then inflammation
subsides and as a result abscess resolves completely. Second
stage of abscess is untreatable; the measures suitable for 1
stage only help to form an additional cellular barrier and
isolate necrosis zona from healthy tissues. When abscess is
fully pointing it must be opened by scarifying in downward
direction. After leaking away of whole contents, antrum of
opened abscess is washed with hydric dioxide or weak not less
than 1:1000 solution of potassium permanganate. Strong solutions
of antiseptics are forbidden at this stage as they destroy
granulation barrier and may enable infection penetration over
the inflammatory tissue. If there are no signs of necrosis of
granulation barrier it needs to administer a drain to abscessís
bladder with 5-10 % solution of calcium chloride together with
furacilin in ratio 1:5000.
